Historical Event on 5/11/1998

Three momentous events took place on the day that did the nation proud. Firstly, three underground nuclear tests at Pokhran Range in Rajasthan, which included a hydrogen bomb, were tested; secondly, the successful test firing of the 'Trishul Missile' and thirdly, the maiden Certification test flight of 'Hansa-3', the first-all Composite indigenous two seater aircraft.

5/22/1917Suniti Chaudhary, revolutionary freedom fighter, was born at Kumilla. She was one of the accused in the famous Chargaon ammunition plot and assassination of General Lemen, Inspector General of Dhaka.
4/21/1998Ashok Kumar, Special Secretary, Union Home Ministry, who headed a Central team to Tamil Nadu to assess the law and order situation, was transferred to the Planning Commission.
12/5/1905Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was born in Soura, Srinagar, Kashmir.
